General Information

The project “Geothermal Synergy: Iceland-Poland Knowledge Exchange” (GeoSynergy) is co-financed by the Bilateral Cooperation Fund of the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014-2021 and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 under the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme.

Duration: 01.09.2024 – 28.02.2025

Project budget: ca. 563 000 PLN

The aim

The aim of the Project is to strengthen professional, economic and social ties between institutions and individuals from Iceland and Poland. It will serve as a model for international cooperation in the field of renewable energy, showing how the two countries can mutually benefit from common knowledge and experience.

The Project will contribute to achieving environmental and economic benefits, strengthen professional, economic and social ties between institutions and individuals from Iceland and Poland. It will serve as a model for international cooperation in the field of renewable energy.

  • Exchange of specialist knowledge between Iceland and Poland on geothermal energy technologies,
  • Deepening knowledge on policies supporting the development of geothermal energy use in Iceland in order to support Poland in developing such policies and strategies,
  • Initiating contacts and cooperation within the international GEOTHERMICA initiative.

Project Target Groups

Representatives of key stakeholder groups involved in various ways in the geothermal energy sector in Poland and Iceland.
